Like you, we were horrified and devastated to learn about the shooting at Club Q. We believe our communities are strongest when we respect and uphold the rights of every member. Unfortunately, many of our friends’ and neighbors’ rights and safety are under attack. So we are incredibly grateful to those who are fighting to make our communities stronger by standing up to those who oppose justice, equity, and inclusion for everyone. This month we want to highlight a few of the amazing organizations we have had the great honor of working with that are providing quality services to, and fighting alongside, some of our marginalized friends and neighbors:

 

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides critical support services to its LGBTQ+ community including culture and community-building programs, health programs, youth programs, advocacy, and organizes the region’s annual Pride festival. Its mission is to provide a vibrant, inclusive space in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley for all of the region’s LGBTQ+ residents. Allentown, PA.

 

Brooklyn Community Pride Center is a community of activists and organizers building up Brooklyn’s LGBTQ+ community through social and recreational events, advocacy, education, and outreach. Its mission is to provide services and support to the borough’s LGBTQ+ community through original programming and partnerships with other organizations. Brooklyn, NY.

 

CAMP Rehoboth Community Center seeks to promote cooperation and understanding among all people, as it works to build a safer community with room for all. Its mission is to create a positive environment inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities in Rehoboth Beach and its related communities. Rehoboth Beach, DE.

 

CenterLink is a member-based association of LGBTQ centers and other LGBTQ organizations serving their local and regional communities. Its mission is to strengthen, support, and connect LGBTQ community centers. Fort Lauderdale, FL.

 

Future Foundation is a paradigm-shifting network serving over 500 middle- and high-school students in the South Fulton community through after-school classes, family support workshops, and corporate mentorships. Its mission is to help level the playing field for students in Atlanta’s underserved communities. Atlanta, GA.

 

Formerly Incarcerated College Graduate Network is a network of college graduates who have been to prison. Its mission is to promote the education and empowerment of formerly incarcerated people through a collective community. Newark, NJ.

 

Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network seeks to provide quality pro bono representation to asylum-seekers and immigrant survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. Its mission is to protect and empower immigrant survivors of crime and persecution. Atlanta, GA.

 

HOPE Atlanta is Metro Atlanta’s most established agency dedicated to ending homelessness, one individual at a time. Its mission is to help Georgians avoid homelessness and hunger through a comprehensive approach that equips them with the tools for lifelong stability. Atlanta, GA.

 

Innovative Solutions for Disabled and Disadvantaged provides programs that reduce the impact of social and economic disadvantage on the health, growth, and development of children and their caregivers. Its mission is to create healthier outcomes for vulnerable children and families. Decatur, GA.

 

Inside Out Youth Services is a community center that creates a safe space for LGBTQIA2+ youth and their allies and promotes education and outreach. Their mission is to build access, equity, and power with LGBTQIA2+ young people. Colorado Springs, CO.

 

Jusoor (meaning ‘bridges’ in Arabic) is a global actor in educational and entrepreneurial programs for Syrian children and youth. Its mission is to invest in Syria’s youth for a better tomorrow. Paris, France.

 

Legacy Decatur focuses on inclusive housing, community-building, and environmental stewardship — and on supporting grassroots groups with aligned efforts. Its mission is to grow programs, partnerships, and resources that create and support a positive legacy for Decatur. Decatur, GA.

 

LGBT Center of Raleigh creates a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Its mission is to serve, empower, and advocate for the well-being of our diverse LGBTQ+ communities. Raleigh, NC.

 

North Coast Opportunities is a Community Action Agency that primarily serves the populations of Lake and Mendocino Counties in California. Its mission is to strengthen its communities through responsive advocacy, engagement, and services. Ukiah, CA.

 

Northland Cares provides a full range of outpatient services for people living with HIV/AIDS and prevention services for those at risk for HIV in northern Arizona. It’s mission is to provide health and healing for communities affected by HIV, STIs, and Chronic Hepatitis. Prescott, AZ.

 

One Orlando Alliance is a coalition of diverse organizations honoring the memory of the lives taken and all those affected at Pulse. Its mission is to unite LGBTQ+ serving organizations in Central Florida through advocacy, community transformation, organizational development, and resource sharing. Orlando, FL.

 

Robert H. Jackson Center advances the legacy of Justice Robert H. Jackson. Its mission is to provide a forum for education on and discussion of law and justice issues. Jamestown, NY.

 

Sheltering Arms provides high‐quality early education, child care, and comprehensive family support services. Its mission is to close the opportunity gaps stemming from systemic racism by transforming the lives of children and their families. Atlanta, GA.

 

SOJOURN is the American South’s resource for Jewish & LGBTQ+ programming, education, support, and advocacy. Their mission is to empower communities to advance and celebrate gender and sexual diversity across the South. Atlanta, GA.

 

Someone Cares eliminates barriers to health services for all individuals who experience health disparities. Its mission is to engage, educate and empower individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other health disparities to achieve better health outcomes by eliminating barriers to culturally sensitive services, building a network for under-served groups, and increasing client resiliency. Atlanta, GA.

 

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is Arizona’s home for affordable primary healthcare and wellness for Queer and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. Its mission is to provide affirming and inclusive services to promote well-being and advance health equity for diverse communities and all those seeking compassionate care – especially people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ and Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV. Phoenix, AZ.

 

Spahr Center serves Marion County’s LGBTQ+ community through programs that support health and well-being, celebrate the vibrant community, and provide cultural awareness and health equity trainings. Its mission is to celebrate and support Marin’s LGBTQ+ and HIV communities. Corte Madera, CA.

 

Stepping Stone provides holistic and comprehensive residential treatment for people suffering from alcohol and drug dependence. Its mission is to create, improve, and deliver alcohol and other drug treatment, HIV and other health interventions, recovery, education, and prevention services specializing in the challenges of the LGBT communities of the San Diego region. San Diego, CA.

 

Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund coordinates with traditional civil rights organizations and other LGBT civil rights organizations to provide public education, test-case litigation, direct legal services, and public policy efforts. Its mission is to end discrimination and achieve equality for transgender people, particularly those in our most vulnerable communities. New York, NY.

 

Triangle Community Center works to make local area providers more welcoming and affirming through education with its LGBTQ Training Institute and produce Connecticut’s largest Pride event. Its mission is to empower and advocate for Connecticut’s LGBTQ community. Norwalk, CT.

 

We Are Family Foundation is dedicated to the vision of a global family. It creates programs that promote cultural diversity while nurturing and mentoring the vision, talents, and ideas of young people who are positively changing the world. New York, NY.

 

William Way LGBT Community Center provides social groups, networking events, and counseling and support services to art exhibitions and cultural experiences. It’s mission is to engage and support the diverse LGBTQIA+ communities in the greater Philadelphia area through arts & culture, empowerment, and community connections. Philadelphia, PA.

 

Zebra Coalition provides high quality, culturally appropriate programs designed to meet the unique needs of homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. Their mission is to empower LGBTQ+ youth to thrive. Orlando, FL.
